This policy explains what data Option Trading (optiontrading.app) collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The short version
This is a static educational website. There are no user accounts and no login. We do not sell your personal information. The data we do collect comes from three places: privacy-respecting traffic analytics, Google’s advertising cookies, and — if you ever choose to give it — your email address.
What we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-5J9X5WR5QQ) and Vercel Web Analytics / Speed Insights to understand which pages are read and how fast they load.
This records things like the pages you visit, approximate geographic region, referring site, device type, browser, and page performance timings. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes a truncated form of your IP address. Vercel Analytics is cookieless and does not track individuals across sites.
We use this only in aggregate — to decide what to write next and what to fix. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
Advertising
This site displays ads through Google AdSense (publisher ID pub-4160684455866300).
Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, ad personalisation requires your consent and you will be asked before personalised ads are shown.
The email subscription feature is currently disabled. No new email addresses are being collected.
Addresses previously submitted are stored in a Supabase-hosted Postgres database and were used only to send candlestick scanner summaries. Every email sent included a one-click unsubscribe link. If you previously subscribed and want your address deleted, contact us and we will remove it.
What we do not collect
We do not collect names, postal addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or financial account information. We never ask for your brokerage credentials, and you should never give them to any site that does.

Market data shown in the candlestick scanner is retrieved from Yahoo Finance. That happens on our servers on a schedule — your browser does not contact Yahoo, and no information about you is sent there.

Cookies
Cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and Google AdSense, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the site will continue to work normally without them, though ads may become less relevant.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. If you are in the EEA or UK this is under the GDPR; in California, under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will be updated. Significant changes will be noted on the page.
